Sight Words: We are learning the words away, on, keep, if, ran, this, can't, Monday this week. (Please see the resource tab for a list of the sight words we will learn each week).
Phonics: We are continuing to learn about word families and talking about words in the -et family.
Reading: We are looking at the book "Pumpkin Circles" by George Levinson. The students are practicing sharing what they already know and what we learned after reading this non-fiction book. We are also learning how to find the main idea in a book and share the details. The students will be learning about author's purpose and how there is a reason for writing every story.
Writing: We are beginning to learn about How-To writing and what that means. The students are practicing telling someone how-to brush their teeth in steps. We will also be writing stories telling how-to make s'mores.
Science: We are learning about force and motion. The students are learning how to explain and show force and motion through various activities. We will also be learning about day and night, how it looks and activities you can do during both times.
